Miss Poinsett County Fair Queen Pageant offers $500 Scholarship This Year!

Poinsett County Fair Board selected new directors for this year’s Miss Poinsett County Fair Queen Pageant and a five-hundred dollar scholarship to the Queen winner of the Miss Division is just one of several changes being made to the pageant.  In a quest to increase participation, the pageant will return the traditional format of “Top 10” finalists in each division with a Queen and two alternates chosen.  Tiny Miss and La Petite Miss Queens will receive a 4” Rhinestone Crown, 21” Marble Base Trophy, and nice banner.  Little Miss and Young Miss Queens will receive a 5” Rhinestone Crown, 21” Marble Base Trophy and nice banner.  Jr. Miss Queen will receive a 5 ½” Rhinestone Crown, 21” Marble Base Trophy and nice banner.  Queen of Miss Division will receive an 8”Rhinestone Crown, 21” Marble Base Trophy, $500.00 Scholarship, and nice banner.  All first alternate winners will receive a 19” Marble Base Trophy and nice banner.  The second alternate winners will receive a 17” Marble Base Trophy and nice banner.  The remaining seven finalists in each division will receive a traditional finalist trophy. 


The Pageant will be held on Saturday, August 16th at Harrisburg School Center for the Arts Building with registration at 12:00 noon and the pageant beginning at 1:00 PM.  Entry fee is $20.00  and optional photogenic entry fee is $10.00.  Practice will be held on Saturday, August 9th and entry forms will be due Saturday, August 9th at practice. New Directors for the 2008 Pageant!

We have exciting news to share with you!  Tonya Cole and Carolyn Roland have been chosen as the new directors for the Poinsett County Fair Queen Pageant!  Tonya's daughter, Shayna Cole, along with Carolyn's daughter, Rachel Roland will be assisting their mothers with the production of the pageant.  The mother-daughter duos bring many years of experience and knowledge about the pageant circuit.  Both Shayna and Rachel have held numerous prestigious titles having successfully competed in many local, state and national pageants.  A few of Shayna's previous Queen titles include Young Miss Poinsett County, Jr. Miss Poinsett County, Miss Poinsett County, Miss NEA, Little Miss AR, Young Miss AR, and she has participated in state and national competitions such as Arkansas State Fair Queen Pageant, Miss Teen Arkansas USA Pageant, MIss Teen Arkansas International Pageant, Miss Southern Teen USA, & Miss Southern USA.  Rachel has held many of the same Queen titles, as well as previously placing 1st alternate in Miss Teen Arkansas USA Pageant.  In addition to reverting back to the traditional format of the Fair Pageant, a top priority they hope to accomplish through fundraising is renovation to the Fairground Beauty Revue Building so that the pageant can eventually return to being held at the Fairground.  They are anxiously awaiting the results from the many changes made and look forward to seeing participation increase!
